Moises Henriques, the Australian allrounder, has signed for Glamorgan. He will cover for Marcus North for the first part of the season while North recovers from injury and attends the birth of his second child.It will be Henriques’ first stint in overseas first-class cricket and provide him the chance to enhance his credentials in the longer form of the game. Henriques, 25, has a useful first-class record for New South Wales, having scored 1257 runs at 29.92 and taken 47 wickets at 31.38. He also played two ODIs for Australia in India in 2009.Moises is well known to Glamorgan’s head of elite performance, Matthew Mott, who was previously head coach of New South Wales. “I am delighted that Moises will be joining us for the first part of the season,” Mott said. “We play nearly a third of our Championship matches within the first five weeks. Given the probability of bowler friendly conditions, we opted for an all-rounder, which will provide us with some additional options as we look to start the season in a positive manner.”Mott is hoping to revive Glamorgan’s fortunes. Brought in for the start of last season after huge upheaval behind the scenes, Mott was unable to turn his new club around immediately, as they slumped to sixth in County Championship Division Two, fifth in group C of the Clydesdale Bank 40 League and seventh in the south group of the Flt20.Glamorgan, who appointed wicketkeeper Mark Wallace as captain at the end of last season, also had their plans to build forward from last season hit when Alviro Petersen decided not to return as the club’s overseas player owing to his international ambitions. He subsequently signed a deal for the early part of the season with Essex.Marcus North was brought in to replace Petersen but his absence has opened a window for Henriques. “I am thrilled to be joining Glamorgan – they are an ambitious county and I look forward to working with Matthew Mott again,” he said. “The first few weeks of the season will be hugely important for all counties and I hope to make a positive contribution for Glamorgan as they look to start the season on the front foot.”Glamorgan, who were in talks to sign Mitchell Johnson for their T20 campaign, begin their season away to Leicestershire on April 5.

تحدث هاني سعيد المدير الرياضي لنادي بيراميدز، عن أهمية مباراة فريقه أمام الزمالك، موضحًا أن الفريق الأزرق يبحث عن الفوز.

ويلتقي الزمالك مع نظيره بيراميدز غدًا الجمعة، على أرضية استاد القاهرة الدولي، في إطار الجولة 20 من عمر المسابقة المحلية.

وقال هاني سعيد في تصريحات للمركز الإعلامي أن الفريق كعادته يبحث عن الفوز باللقاء ومواصلة مشواره بقوة في البطولة المحلية، بعدما نجح من قبل في التأهل لنهائي الكأس، كما أنه يسير بصورة جيدة في مشواره بدور المجموعات لبطولة كأس الكونفدرالية الأفريقية.

Pakistan’s bowlers set up the win with a disciplined effort, and Misbah-ul-Haq and Umar Akmal compiled positive half-centuries to arrest a top-order wobble. Their eagerly anticipated clash with India on Sunday may not carry much context for them if India beat Bangladesh tomorrow, but Sri Lanka’s second consecutive defeat makes an India-Pakistan final likely.The defeat left a few important questions for Sri Lanka to answer after a long, strenuous season away from home, where they have had mixed results. Their shot-selection for one, starting from the seniors at the top, has been exposed, leaving plenty for the lower middle-order to do. With Upul Tharanga scoring another half-century at No.6, it strengthens his case for being reinstated as an opener, meaning that Mahela Jayawardene would have to move back down the order.The presence of Dilshan and Jayawardene at the top was aimed at giving Sri Lanka a strong start in a must-win game. They started aggressively today, but in their quest lost quick wickets. It was an underwhelming performance from a team that bats deep but did not have the application to match their talent.Jayawardene fell trying to drive past extra cover. Umar Gul became the tenth Pakistani bowler to reach the 150-wicket mark in ODIs. His average of 27.24 is bettered by five other bowlers on the list.

Aizaz Cheema equalled his best bowling figures in ODIs (4 for 43). It is also the best bowling performance by a Pakistan bowler in ODIs against Sri Lanka played in Bangladesh.

The 61 balls remaining at the end is third on the list of most deliveries remaining in a Pakistan win over Sri Lanka.

Misbah has now scored 19 half-centuries in ODIs. In 13 matches against Sri Lanka, Misbah has scored five half-centuries and averages 48.00.

Akmal’s 77 is his fifth fifty-plus score against Sri Lanka and his 14th half-century in ODIs. Against Sri Lanka, Akmal has scored 470 runs at 52.22 with one century and four fifties.

The 96-run stand between Kumar Sangakkara and Upul Tharanga is the fourth-highest fifth-wicket stand for Sri Lanka against Pakistan and is also fourth on the list of highest fifth-wicket stands in Mirpur.

Sri Lanka once again succumbed to a familiar weakness – the batting Powerplay. As it happened against India, they lost their foothold in the first over of the field restrictions. Saeed Ajmal was taken off after the bowling Powerplay but Misbah brought him back at the start of the 36th over. Fast bowler Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the IPL after undergoing an ankle surgery earlier this month, which is likely to keep him out of action for at least six months. Deccan Chargers, Ishant’s IPL franchise, confirmed the development, saying they would now be seeking permission from the IPL for a replacement player.Ishant had been delaying the surgery for nearly a year, but finally decided to take the plunge after he returned from Australia in January, where he had played the Test-leg of the tour. Though he impressed in patches, Ishant remained inconsistent and only managed five wickets at an average of 90.20 in the four-Test series.It is understood that he had considered delaying the surgery post this IPL season, but that would have ruled him out of the home series against England, starting in November. Ishant is likely to plan his rehabilitation so that he can make a return during the home series against New Zealand, also later in the year.”The wound is likely to heal in three months’ time and he is solely focussing on that,” a source close to Ishant told ESPNcricinfo.Last year, Ishant’s India team-mate Virender Sehwag was in a similar scenario with a shoulder injury but he chose to delay his surgery. After the World Cup, he played through pain at the start of the IPL but withdrew midway through the tournament.
